As you are aware, the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board's Accommodation Review Committee is continuing in its study of the schools in the East Windsor/Riverside Area, including F.J. Brennan High School, St. Maria Goretti, St. Rose, St. John Vianney, and St. Jules Catholic Elementary Schools.

This is a reminder of the Committee's next public meeting to be held at F.J. Brennan High School on Tuesday, November 12 at 6 PM. The Committee will be presenting the following options:

  • Consolidating St. Maria Goretti at St. Rose and/or St. John Vianney; Consolidating St. Jules and accommodating students at the F.J. Brennan Site, in a retrofitted K-12 school.
  • Consolidate St. Jules at the new St. Bernard; Closure of F.J. Brennan with consolidation at St. Joseph High School; St. Maria Goretti, St. Rose and St. John Vianney remain status quo.
  • Consolidate St. Maria Goretti at St. John Vianney; Consolidate St. Rose and St. Jules at F.J. Brennan in a retrofitted K-12 school
  • Establish a grade 7 – 12 school at F.J. Brennan; Consolidate St. Jules at the new St. Bernard Site in a Jk-6 elementary school; Maintain St. John Vianney as a Jk – 8 elementary school; Consolidate St. Maria Goretti at St. Rose in a Jk-6 elementary school, and/or at St. John Vianney in a Jk-8 elementary school; Grades 7 and 8 from the St. Jules, St. Rose (with merging St. Maria Goretti students), St. Bernard, and our Lady of Lourdes consolidating at the grade 7-12 school at F.J. Brennan
  • Establish a French Immersion Program at F.J. Brennan and a French Immersion School at St. Maria Goretti, St. Rose, St. John Vianney, or St. Jules.

Members of the  Committee encourage you to attend the meeting and to provide feedback on these options, so that they may gather the information necessary to complete their study, and to make recommendations that will consider the best interests of students in the East Windsor/Riverside Area.

Should you be interested in speaking at the meeting, you must contact Colleen Norris, Manager of Human Resources and Policy Development at (519) 253-2481 ext. 1122 or at Colleen_Norris@wecdsb.on.ca,  by end of day Friday, November 8, 2013.  You may also provide written submissions at any time during the course of the study,  to the Director of Education at the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board, 1325 California Ave., Windsor, Ontario N0B 3Y6.
